Record 40GB per second!!!!!!!

Think your network is fast?
Getting a gigabyte- sized movie
over your local wireless network
to your hard drive in a few
seconds is old hat. Now there’s a
network that can push a 2-hour,
high-
definition movie to a computer a
mile away in less time than it
takes to read a single word.At the
Karlsruhe Institute of Technology
in Germany, a new record has
been set: 40GB persecond over a
distance of about .6 of a
mile.That’s like sending 10 high-
def feature films

Touch or not Touch?

There is a new frenzy about touch screen mobile phones: touch or not touch? That’s the question my friend…
What are the strength and weaknesses of touch phones?
Touch screen is still a recent technology and some progress has to be made in order to be successful. Apple has it right and its touch screen technology is amazing but there is still progress to be made. If you want to write a long message, you can’t beat a real keyboard. Touch screen is intuitive for sure but again it’s not that simple. With a keyboard, you have many more options…
I have a blackberry with a real keyboard and I write a lot of messages so I guess touch screen is not for me. It’s a matter of preferences. Just make sure that you are aware of what you like and what you want when you buy a touch screen mobile phone. Enjoy!

iPhone HD images leak, iPhone and iPad demand to boost earnings, 5 reasons for a new iPhone in June

Over the weekend, some images of what is claimed to be the iPhone HD or 4th generation iPhone hit the web. The camera was supposedly found in a bar in San Jose California, probably left there after a clandestine meeting among Jobs and Gates on how to rule the world.
Apple is expected to unveil its earnings for Q1 2010 soon and big things are expected. Strong demand for the iPhone and the iPad are expected to add to the earnings report.
PC Magazine has offered up the top five reasons we will see a new iPhone that spring. The number one reason is that it fits the pattern with number two being the blocking of vacations for AT&T workers in June.

How the iPhone 4G was leaked, Apple wants iPhone 4G back, SlashGear app lands

Those images of the iPhone 4G that have been turning up have a bit more of a story to go with them now. After a tear down, the device found in a bar in California is apparently the real deal lost by an employee out for a night on the town. Someone needs to dust off their resume.
Apple has really given weight to the iPhone 4g prototype that was found in the bar I just mentioned by asking Gizmodo to give the device back. Each duration the company demands images or composition come down, it’s seen as an admission that said composition is real by many.
Sister site SlashGear has its own iPhone app that is now available on the App Store for folks to download. It offers updates on new stories on the site.

iPhone 4G costs Gawker $20k in all, Rhapsody offline mode, Gray Powell offered free vacation

The world knows that Gizmodo and parent Gawker Media paid $5,000 for the iPhone HD or 4G prototype that was lost in a bar in California. Gawker head Nick Denton figures the whole thing cost him about $20,000 for the handset, bonuses, and bandwidth. The money made from the exclusive is estimated to be $200,000.
Rhapsody has been on the iPhone for a while now and the service has gained an urgent new feature. Users can now take advantage of an offline listening mode that caches music and lets you listen without an World Wide Web connection.
The Apple employee who lost the infamous iPhone HD prototype in a bar has been offered a free German holiday. The offer comes from Lufthansa airlines and whether I were My. Powell I’d want to be certain Steve Jobs wasn’t sending him by on a one way ticket.

PadRacer game rocks, Apple buys Siri, next iPhone to use LG Innotek camera

I am really digging the way some iPad games are using the iPhone as controllers. The latest such game is called PadRacer and each player uses the iPhone to control the car on the iPad screen.
Apple has acquired Siri, the company behind the personal assistant app for the iPhone. Terms of the purchase are unknown at that duration.
Reports are coming in that the next iPhone will use a camera from LG Innotek rather than the rumored OmniVision camera. The LG Innotek snapper is said to be a 5MP.

iPhone HD finder outed, iAd campaigns as much at $1M, Siri purchase will boost voice capability

Wired has unveiled the identity of the person who found that iPhone HD prototype device in the California bar. The man’s name is Brian Hogan and according to Hogan’s attorney, “He regrets his mistake in not doing more to return the phone.”
Reports are coming in that campaigns on the new Apple iAd platform for the iPhone could cost advertisers as much as $1 million. perhaps that high price will limit the ads we are assaulted with.
I mentioned yesterday that Apple had purchased Siri, the personal assistant app firm. The buy could heraldnew voice-activated search capabilities coming to the iPhone, which would be most welcome.

iPhone charging desk lamp, Skyfire browser coming, Antitrust by iPhone OS 4

The Most Talented Light has surfaced and the uncommonly named desk lamp has a charging station inside it. The thing can charge the iPhone, iPod, and notebooks.
Another new browser may be landing on the iPhone soon. The browser is called Skyfire and an iPhone version is being submitted to the App Store.
Rumor is circulating that Apple may find itself at the center of an anti-trust investigation by the DOJ or FCC. The reason cited is the tightened iPhone OS development rules essentially making devs use Apple dev tools only.

New features of the iPhone OS 4.0 have surfaced. The iPhone will get new media controls and file sharing capabilities among other things.
Apple is facing a possibility of an antitrust investigation by either the DOJ or the FTC. The charges have allegedly come from Adobe by the Flash debacle.
NPD Group has issued a new report that shows iPhone and iPod touch users are tops in downloading substance. That makes sense considering the App Store is tops in the smartphones world.

iHome iP90 clock updated, Patent app hints at heart rate ID, iPhone HD saga continues

The amount of accessories and docks on the market for the iPhone and iPad is staggering. iHome makes a lot of these items and has announced that its high-end iP90 alarm clock has been updated for 2010.
Apple has filed a new patent application that shows an interesting way to tell who is using the phone. The app outlines a heart rate sensor that is built into the case and reads the heart rate to identify the user.
The saga of police raids and legal wrangling surrounding the publishing of the iPhone HD prototype on Gizmodo are legendary. A judge presiding by the case has now been told that the documents that are secret right now outlining why the search of the Gizmodo editors home was allowed should be public. These sorts of documents are public record in most cases.

iPhone 3G Android hack, judge denies desire for iPhone 4G search warrant, no Verizon iPhone that year

We have already heard that some hackers have been able to get Android to run on the iPhone 3G. A newvideo has surfaced that shows Android on the iPhone.
I mentioned that the documents pertaining to the reason the warrant to search the Gizmodo editor’s home by the iPhone 4G prototype was being secreted away by the judge in the case. The judge has now denied a request to turn the search warrant documents by to media outlets.
Many have been expecting the iPhone to land on Verizon that year. One analyst has now decided that the iPhone will stay locked to AT&T considering he figures the cheap goods plans for the iPad 3G would have come with an extension on iPhone exclusivity.
